Lainey had quite a first birthday weekend. It all started Friday (Aug. 12, her actual birthday) when Grandpa picked her up to take her for her first trip to the zoo. Mommy and Daddy got the house ready for her party on Saturday while they were gone. Later that afternoon, we went to James Avery where she got a charm bracelet and her first charm, a ladybug. Kevin came up with the idea he wanted to give her a charm every year on her birthday - what a sweet Daddy! While we were in Katy, we also took her to get her first official hair cut as it was getting kind of scraggly at the ends. Lainey LOVED the firetruck they put her in, so much so that it was difficult for the woman to cut her hair. Lainey kept trying to lean forward to ring the bell. The day concluded with dinner at Esclantes, where Lainey dined on her favorite food: rice. It was a wonderful day with the family. Aug, 12, 2010 was the first best day of my life, and I've had 365 best days since then! I love my birthday bug!
